HOW TO RECYCLE IN BOLTON
Weekly Curbside Pick Up

(Note: This information is subject to change.)

Corrugated Cardboard:

Clean cardboard flattened and cut to no larger than 2' x 4'. No plastic, waxed, coated, or food-contaminated cardboard accepted.
Used Motor Oil & Antifreeze:

Place in nonbreakable container with a fitting screw cap. Original container is recommended. Only two quarts per week.
Glass Food & Beverage Containers:

Rinse and clean--labels may be left on. NO plate glass, mirrors, light bulbs, ceramics, or clay pots.

Metal Food & Beverage Containers:

Rinse and clean. Put lids inside container and place in bin. Labels may be left on. NO aerosol cans.

Save all metal items other than cans for scheduled scrap metal pick ups.
Plastic Containers: - DO NOT CRUSH

#1PET - Rinse and clean all milk jug-type containers and place in bin.

#2HDPE - Rinse and clean all food beverage and detergent bottles and place in bin. Do not recycle oil or antifreeze containers. Do not recycle #2 containers that are made of the brittle type of plastic. A rule of thumb is that if the mouth of the container is wider than the base (e.g., margarine tubs), throw them away.
Milk/Juice Cartons:

Rinse and flatten and place in bin.
Automotive Batteries:

Place used car batteries, with caps in place, next to recycling bin. NO dry cell batteries.

PAPER: Use Two Separate Bags  (Please do not put loose papers in the bin.)
Bag #1 Bag #2
Newspapers & Magazines:
      All types of circulars and mail order catalogs may be included in this bag.
Junk Mail:
      All unwanted mail and envelopes.
Office Paper:
      All colors of waste paper.

NO PLASTIC BAGS.
NO BOOKS.
NO CLOTHING.
  Recycle clean clothing at The Salvation Army or at the charity of your choice.
