Scrap Metal (Note: This information is subject to change.) Scrap metal pick up weeks generally occur twice a year. Scheduled pick ups for 2008 are: the weeks of May 5-9 and October (TBA). Items to be collected must be at curbside by 7 a.m. on Monday. Noncombustible items such as appliances and other metal items weighing up to 100 pounds are acceptable. Gas grill fuel tanks need to have the caps removed. Unacceptable scrap metal items include motor vehicle parts, machinery, and items weighing more than 100 pounds. This is NOT a bulk waste pick up! Bolton has not had a bulk waste pick up week for over seven years (see below). Bulk Waste The Town of Bolton no longer has free bulk pick up. A $10 sticker purchased from the selectmen's office must be placed on any non-metal bulk item put out for curbside collection. As with the previous policy, only one item can be put out per week. The non-metal bulk item is defined as any item that will not fit into a plastic garbage bag or can. Any item that meets this definition but does not have a sticker will not be picked up by the refuse company. Please contact the selectmen's office at 649-8066 x111 for more information.
